The Opportunity
We're looking for an Underwriting Assistant to support our experienced UK Motor Underwriting team in Chelmsford.
This role will provide the opportunity to work in an exciting and ever evolving space. Previous experience is not required; we're committed to providing comprehensive training to empower you in advancing your career with us.
Your new role
  • Providing efficient and effective, technical, and administrative support to the Underwriting team
  • Providing information and support to enable our Underwriters to negotiate rates, terms and conditions for new and existing business.
  • Building and developing strong relationships with your stakeholders, including Underwriters and other members of the wider team.
  • Being aware of the annual business plan and its context so that you can make decisions and prioritise appropriately.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
  • Positively promote the department, division, and company to maximise brand leverage.
About you:
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A team player with great communication skills.
  • Flexible approach and ability to recognise and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • The desire to learn and grow in your new role.
  • Experience in or knowledge of insurance or in another regulated environment would be great but it's not essential!
