Description

We are seeking a talented UX Designer and Researcher to join an innovative team within a public sector organisation, dedicated to revolutionising service delivery through technological modernisation. This role will involve collaborating closely with business analysts, subject matter experts, and the delivery team to comprehend user needs and craft application enhancements and related processes. The successful candidate will contribute to a transformative journey, working in tandem with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts.

The Role:
As a UX Designer and Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in owning end-to-end service/product design, employing collaborative, user-centred design methods. You’ll leverage your expertise and tooling knowledge to bring application designs to fruition, starting from initial sketches to wireframes, storyboards, high-fidelity mock-ups, and clickable prototypes. Your responsibilities will include crafting high-quality UX deliverables, such as user interface designs, interactive prototypes, wireframes, functional specifications, information architecture, personas, scenarios, and user experience maps. Additionally, you’ll conduct independent user research, utilising quantitative data and insights to refine and elevate designs while maintaining a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and meeting end-users’ needs.

Requirements:
· Expertise in end-to-end service/product design.
· Proficiency in user-centred design methods and collaborative design.
· Skills in application design tools and transforming designs from sketches to high-fidelity prototypes.
· Ability to create diverse UX deliverables including interface designs, wireframes, specifications, and content development.
· Independent user research capabilities and quantitative data utilisation skills.
· Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, and Agile methodologies.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Experience in synthesising feedback and collaborating across multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
· Lead the design process, identifying and rectifying UX issues in existing systems.
· Collaborate closely with various teams to ensure effective design implementation.
· Conduct workshops, co-creation sessions, and presentations.
· Review systems and recommend UX enhancements.
· Utilise insights to continually enhance and refine designs.
· Actively contribute to digital service standards and best practices.

Package on Offer:
· Initial 6-month contract with the option to extend further.
· Outside IR35.
