Role Summary
Aubay is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Consultant, to join our team within our client’s Information and Digital Engineering department, in this role, you will serve as a vital connection between internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and executing sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, optimizing costs, and fostering effective supplier relationships. This role emphasizes the importance of leadership, communication, and analytical skills to drive strategic sourcing initiatives and ensure supplier performance meets our standards.
You will be acting as the co-pilot to the IT Strategic Sourcing Manager. This is a collective effort to drive a competitive workforce that aligns the strategic goals – ensuring that we optimise IT costs with a sharp focus on competitiveness and performance while maintaining our commitment to excellence.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or procurement, demonstrating successful supplier management and cost savings.
- Great leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Proven track record of managing complex sourcing projects.
- Effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills to engage with senior management level, to get buy-in and commitment from internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain a strong network of Senior Stakeholders across the organisation.
- Self-starter and quick to understand a team’s dynamic.
- Ability to perform in a complex, high-tech, corporate, and multi-cultural environment.
- Proficiency in analysing and interpreting complex data and Analytical Dashboards (PowerBI) into innovative sourcing solutions.
- Excellent in writing strategy documents/business plans.
- Mastery in building effective PowerPoint presentations.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and managing competing priorities.
- Ability to thrive in environments with risk and uncertainty
Role Responsibilities
- Sourcing Strategy: Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business portfolio goals, including cost reduction, quality improvement and supplier diversification.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure a reliable and cost-effective strategy. This includes conducting supplier performance reviews.
- Cost Analysis: Analyse supplier costs, market trends, and industry benchmarks to identify cost-saving opportunities and make data-driven sourcing decisions.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks, including supplier disruptions, delivery quality issues and compliance concerns.
- Leadership & Soft Skills: Manage a complex network of senior stakeholders, providing guidance, coaching and support to achieve defined business goals.
- Liaise with Contracting & Procurement counterparts to agree with changes in the sourcing process, suppliers, performance evaluation and supporting rate-card negotiations.
- Proactively lead day-to-day engagements with IT business stakeholders (including owning agenda of interactions), follow through and track all actions and communications for full transparency to ensure agile and seamless execution of IT sourcing models.
- Market Research: Making informed sourcing decisions, keeping awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and supplier developments.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements to enhance sourcing efficiency and effectiveness, such as implementing supplier ecosystems and innovative initiatives, assessments, benchmarks and market scans based on data analytics
Role Accountabilities
- Ensure integration between operational processes, tactical plan and Strategic Sourcing execution.
- Facilitate Supplier and Stakeholder engagements, ensure meeting effectiveness and supplier performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with Contract & Procurement counterparts to ensure compliance through the entire lifecycle of the strategic sourcing process.
- Drive sourcing development with senior stakeholders and external relationships within a cluster of strategic suppliers.
- Optimise data-driven strategies to identify and address sourcing issues and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare materials for Quarterly Partnership Reviews and understand the technology capabilities and IT sourcing needs.
- Ensure integration between operational processes and strategic sourcing strategy execution, team performance and delivery to business IT.
