What you'll be doing:

To effectively manage the Engineering Support team and third-party suppliers to ensure operational delivery to clients in line with service level agreements, statutory requirements, KPIs and company standards and procedures.

  • Responsibility for forward planning and programming of the engineering team, including PPM and Reactive Tasks requested for PPP-IML sites and other clients.
  • Management of the CAFM/PPM system for the engineers, distributing tasks as appropriate and in line with the agreed programme. 
  • Be the technical lead support for all systems, overseeing electrical, fire and water systems calling on specialist support as required. 
  • Provide quotes to Contract Managers for remedial works required following either PPMs or reactive works.
  • Carry out site visits for additional works and provide scope of works, costs & programme of works. 
  • Receive and review all reports from engineers in the team, issue the reports on to the Contract Managers.
  • Adhoc co-ordination and management of approved sub-contractors to ensure they work to authorised RAMS and comply with legal, company and contract requirements including security. Issuing and cancellation of safe system of work documentation as per relevant appointments.
  • Undertaking Responsible Person, Competent Person and Authorised Person duties for which you are qualified and appointed. Supporting in the training and coaching of your team to achieve competence and meet with legal, contractual and PPP-IML standards as defined by the Contract Duty Holder Matrix. 
  • Responsibility for the P&L for the Engineering Support team; providing “flash” reports, identifying recharges and costs against budget.
  • Overall responsibility for the purchasing within the team, through monthly monitoring of costs from purchase orders and engineers purchasing cards.
  • Management and allocation of the estates fleet vehicles.
  • Responsibility for ensuring employee records are kept up to date included all training certificates, health & safety training along with PPE & equipment logs. 
  • Ensuring required levels of service, quality and cost control are attained whilst maintaining compliance with contractual, health and safety and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Providing a safe environment for all users of the premises the team visits, promoting a safety culture, and ensuring your team are aware of and operate in accordance with company and client Health & Safety procedures at all times.  
  • To work flexibly and attend contract and client meetings where support may be required by the Contract / Site manager.
Carrying out other reasonable requests made by your Line Manager including working in areas other than those to which you are accustomed

Who you are:

Essential
 
  • High technical understanding of M&E systems including PPM & reactive maintenance along with fault rectification.
  • Experience of supervising/ managing a team of skilled engineers.
  • Experience in managing CAFM systems.
  • Sound understanding of budgets.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
  • Computer literate and capable of using Microsoft packages.
 
Desirable
 
  • Experience of delivering FM Services in a PFI environment.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma in Health & Safety, or willing to work towards. 
  • Project and lifecycle management experience.
  • A qualification in building maintenance / facilities management related discipline.
