Job description

Validation Analyst | S2 | Risk |

Country: United Kingdom

Interested in part-time, job-share or flexible working? We want to talk to you!

Join our community.

You will play a key role in this by independently testing the various models developed across the bank, highlighting areas of model risk and providing indications as to the magnitude of the risks found. You will also interact with key stakeholders across multiple teams in the bank including credit risk management, model methodology, model owners, model users, model controllers and IT.

The difference you'll make:

  • Identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks taking action where appropriate in order to remediate or escalate potential issues
  • Ensuring validation reports highlight all key risks identified alongside any current mitigations
  • Maintaining an effective risk management framework through presenting model developers and users with validation findings to improve models
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders in teams outside of model risk, particularly data owners, data users, model owners, and model developers
  • Working with internal stakeholders including senior managers of various teams, on the review and approval of models used across the bank
  • Engaging with regulators (ECB, PRA and FCA) on model risk and capital related topics, to provide opinions on the levels of model risk and the key model weaknesses

What you'll bring:

  • Degree level education in a numerate or data science subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Operational Research, Physics, Engineering / equivalent)
  • Proficient in conducting statistical analysis in a coding environment such as SAS, SQL, R, Python or Hadoop

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Track record of successful delivery in a similar modelling or data testing role
  • Experience of interpreting technical documentation
  • Banking and credit risk experience
  • Good communication and presentation skills

What else you need to know:
