Job Summary: Swanstaff are seeking a reliable and responsible Van Driver to join our client in Codford. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting agricultural products and equipment to various locations in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vans to deliver agricultural products and equipment to customers, farms, and other designated locations.
- Load and unload products and equipment from the van, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transportation.
- Plan delivery routes and schedules to optimise efficiency and meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, while driving and operating the van.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Provide excellent customer service, including courteous and professional interaction with customers during deliveries.
- Assist with other duties as needed, including warehouse tasks and inventory management, when not driving.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a Van Driver or delivery driver preferred.
- Familiarity with local roads and routes in the Codford area.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading the van.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to plan and execute delivery routes effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of agricultural products and equipment is an asset but not required.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Regular working hours with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed
