Vat Accountant

My client is a well known global organisation who specialises in the delivery of retail goods to clients. They have a fantastic culture, with many employees enjoying long tenures within the Group. A new role is available for a tax accountant who has specialised in Indirect Taxes, to work in a sole role as part of the wider finance team. You will be responsible for the compliance for the European entities. This role will cover work across multiple areas of taxation, including corporation tax, indirect tax, capital allowances, tax strategy obligations, tax risk and other tax compliance.
Your new role
You will:

• Be responsible for European entities VAT Returns and Corporation Tax Returns and computations and ensure the payments are made to deadlines.
• Review VAT % applied to each new product and perform a quarterly review of all the products that we sell.
• Minimise VAT liabilities and compliance issues.
• Prepare and submit Tax-related reporting for US Group Finance and Tax teams
• Advise the local team on US Tax related matters impacting local operations and accounting.
• Quarterly Local GAAP and US GAAP ETR calculation/FIN48 review.
• Be involved in a healthy amount of tax reporting, advisory and compliance work.
• Act as a point of contact with the business on Corporation Tax and indirect tax questions.
• Stay ahead of key corporate tax and indirect tax legislation, ensuring the business is fully compliant with the latest legislation.
• Assist with tax compliance of certain intercompany transactions
• Perform ad-hoc income tax research and tax planning
• Manage tax audits/ queries from tax authorities.

What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified tax accountant or qualified by experience with significant experience in indirect tax across European jurisdictions. You may have corporate tax experience, or be willing to learn and develop your knowledge in this area.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary dependent on experience up to £85,000 - full benefits on application
