Calderdale Transport Services provides a Fleet Management and Vehicle Maintenance service to all Council Services and its external customers through its Vehicle Services Team.
The Team’s primary focus is to maintain a fleet of 200 vehicles and 400 items of plant and equipment ensuring the Council’s vehicle assets are operated within relevant legislation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Vehicle Technician/MOT tester to carry out planned maintenance and responsive repairs to HGV, light commercials, cars, accessible buses, plant and equipment.
The role is responsible for carrying out MOT tests to class IV, V and VII vehicles and private hire and hackney carriage compliance tests in a safe and competent manner when required.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence recent experience of successfully working in a vehicle workshop environment and can be able to demonstrate experience of working as a Vehicle Technician within either private or public sectors.
Essential requirements of the post include:
- A Level 2 qualification in vehicle maintenance or equivalent
- Already hold or are be willing to work towards (where the Council will provide the training for the following) Level 3 and 4 IMI Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric /Hybrid Vehicles, MOT vehicle testing training (the Council will provide this training)
