Eden Scott is delighted to be working with the Royal and Ancient Golf Cub (R&A) of St Andrews, a leading body within the world of golf that has evolved to play a global role in the sport by running world-class amateur events and international matches in golf, as well as staging the AIG Woman’s Open.
They are now looking to recruit a Venue Operations Manager for their Glasgow facility, Golf It!, their new community based golf and entertainment facility located on the south bank of Hogganfield Loch, this newly opened attraction by the R&A aims towards making golf more accessible and inclusive.

In this exciting role, you will be managing the day-to-day health and safety and operational support functions to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the facility.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to day golf operations including the driving range, Adventure Golf, Park Golf, Golf Course, tournaments, and events.
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Golf to develop, implement, monitor, and review operating policies and procedures.
- Arrange and review recommendations provided by external specialists and manage and implement the health and safety preventative measures across the facility.
- Provide appropriate advice, expertise, and training to support colleagues across the facility to ensure safe and suitable working environments that are compliant with legislation and policies.
- Investigate and record all accidents, incidents, and work-related ill-health to identify and significant failures.
- Manage day to day security provisions.
- Manage day to day facility management.
- Investigate and record all incidents, issues and breakdowns of plant and equipment.
- Oversee all minor construction and renovation works and ad-hoc work, liaising with appointed contractors.
- Prepare and produce reports.
- Provide support, assistance and absence cover to the general manager in relation to all aspects of their FM responsibilities.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience of working in within a high-volume venue or hospitality environment.
- Experience of working in a Health and Safety and/or Venue Operations role.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Experience in managing key performance and financial metrics in line with delegated authority levels.
This is an operational role supporting a General Manager and will work 5 days out of 7 days and this will include every other weekend.
