Ward Administrator

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide day-to-day administrative support for the wards, including updating service users’ information, managing the ward diary, updating service users timetables and minute taking.

As a Ward Administrator, you will be responsible for arranging meetings and typing up all correspondence and documentations. Also to cover reception when needed which could include shifts and weekends.

As a Ward Administrator you will be:

• Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of effective means of systems within the unit, and between units and groups
• Act as a link between the public, outside professionals and other hospital departments and wards in respect of routine telephone calls and general enquiries.
• Maintain as confidential, at all times, information regarding patients, staff and hospital business
• General upkeep and organisation of nurses office and ward managers office

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Communication and interpersonal skills – as you’ll be interacting with patients and other service users constantly
• Be confident in a patient environment.
• To be self-motivated
• To be willing to learn and work as part of a team.
• Experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Excellent Telephone Skills
• Be able to multi task efficiently
• Update telephone list, Contact IT
• Ability to meet deadlines.

The Woodmill, located in Cullompton, Devon, is an 18 bed rehabilitation service for women with complex emotional and mental health needs. The aim of the service is to support women to improve their self-worth, build a better quality of life for themselves and to equip them with the skills needed for independence."
