As a Ward Manager, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to ensure great healthcare is delivered. Manage and direct the delivery of clinical services within your ward or unit, ensuring it complies with statutory regulations, current legislation, operational policies and meets quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Co-ordinating the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment with 24 hour responsibility for staffing.
• Participating with the multidisciplinary team and undertaking direct patient care.
• Promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors.
• Identify and evaluate potential improvements to the service and colleagues
• Support and work with others to help them understand the need for change and to adapt to it
• Evaluate the extent to which legislation and organisational policies and procedures on health, safety and risk management have been implemented and ensures compliance across the service
• Investigate any actual or potential health, safety or security incidents and takes the required action

To be successful, you will need:

• A relevant nursing qualification
• NMC registration
• A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
• Commitment to high-quality care, values and evidence-based practice
• Relevant experience in a similar environment.
• Proven track record of leadership skills.
