Position: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Cardiff
Job Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Responsibilities:
As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse facility, ensuring efficient and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of our electronic capital equipment. You will lead a team of warehouse associates, implement robust inventory control measures, optimize space utilization, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer demands and business objectives.
- Warehouse Operations Management:
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity and quality standards.
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, proper handling of equipment and adherence to quality control processes.
- Inventory Control and Accuracy:
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to accurately track, monitor, and report inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including timely receipt and storage of new equipment.
- Space Utilization and Organization:
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and facilitate efficient movement of equipment and materials.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and orderliness of the warehouse to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Implement lean warehousing practices to streamline processes, minimize waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, customer service, production and planning departments to prioritize and fulfil customer orders and manufacturing orders ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Provide input and support for continuous process improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of overall warehouse operations.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse productivity, and key performance indicators.
- Analyse data and provide insights to drive decision-making and improve warehouse performance.
Quality System Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Each organization shall have sufficient personnel with the necessary education, background, training, and experience to assure that all activities required by this part are correctly performed and shall establish procedures for identifying training needs and ensure that all personnel are trained to adequately perform their assigned responsibilities. Training shall be documented.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution practices.
- Familiarity with electronic capital equipment or similar technical products is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Completed forklift operator training to comply with safe working practices.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 13485) and regulatory standards (e.g. FDA regulations) is an advantage.
