This exciting role sits within our United Living Infrastructure Services business which supports the design, maintenance and development of critical gas and water infrastructure for the UK’s largest network owner / operators. The business has been highly successful and has set significant growth targets for the future. This role is focused on the Water sector, where we expanding rapidly to meet our client demands for our services.

Purpose:

This role is responsible for developing and managing bid submissions to existing or new clients for Water projects and long-term contract frameworks. As a Bid Manager you will contribute to our business growth, coordinating all activities from initial enquiry right through to tender submission. You will be working with the UK’s key Water companies. Typical values range from £500k to £250m.

Specific Duties:

We’re looking for someone who gets involved and works well within a team environment.

  • Responsible for the timely planning, management and completion of quality submissions
  • Read, understand and extract the key bid requirements from the documentation received and communicate with all parties
  • Develop internal and external relationships in association with the bid process
  • Work with the Commercial function to ensure the business meets relevant submission deadlines
  • Arrange sign off and approval of tender submissions
  • Plan, write & co-ordinate submission responses ensuring client and job specific answers
  • Maintain current information on United Living good practice from Operational and Service teams
  • Maintain a high level of market intelligence, best practice and Client information
  • Maintaining accurate records of Tender Expected dates, liaising with Commercial / Estimating to ensure the adequate resource allocation
  • Review all bids prior to submission to check relevance, quality and accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and improve the process
  • Identify company USP’s and competitive advantage and ensure these are fed into bids
  • Manage Site Visit or Interview requirements, identifying a ‘Champion’ to lead the process
  • Management of follow-ups with Clients to secure accurate information
  • Ensure our CRM system reflects tender timescales, value and status of opportunities

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to A Level Standard
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Proven track record of bid management throughout the full bid lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure and Utilities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Well organised with good time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High Attention to Detail
  • Up to date construction/Industry knowledge and understanding
  • Confident and enthusiastic
  • Understand the power of relationships
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work remotely as well as part of a team
  • Graduate or Professional Qualification (Desirable)
