Summary

As the public face of our properties, you'll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: GBP10.78 per hour (will rise with changes to hourly rate)

Contract/duration: Fixed term until 3rd November 2024

Hours/working pattern: Our usual working day is 6.5 hours and we would be looking for someone to work at least two days a week with the possibility to flex up and down if necessary. We are recruiting for multiple positions so we are happy discuss working patterns with you in more detail at interview stage.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome Managers, you'll be part of the dedicated welcome team at Wray in the South Lakes portfolio which includes many lovely places such as Tarn Hows and Hill Top, which on occasion you may also be asked to support.

Positioned on the west shore of Windermere, Wray offers fantastic access to the lake, beautiful walks, and interesting exhibitions in our Victorian-Gothic castle. With such a wonderful setting, Wray offers a great backdrop to work in.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you'll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You'll be on hand answering queries and listening to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You'll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, which can include being present in the outdoors to help people in the car park, or sharing information about our exhibitions in the castle, or helping to grow support for the National Trust by encouraging visitors to become members or donate.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service. We have something for everyone at Wray including a second-hand bookshop, a for hire mobility vehicle, seasonal programming such as Easter trails, and more.
