The Marketing, Communications and Recruitment (MCR) department is seeking a Widening Access and Outreach Manager to join the team. Working closely with the Head of UK Student Recruitment and Widening Access, the Widening Access and Outreach Manager will lead, build and maintain the planning and strategic aspects of the Widening Access and STEM outreach programmes. They will manage the STEM Outreach and Widening Access teams and oversee the operational delivery of activities with schools, colleges and other organisations, both on and off campus, to attract under-represented groups to consider progressing to higher education and Brunel in particular and/or to consider careers in STEM.
You will have experience of working in higher education or evidence of transferable skills and experience, as well as experience of working with young people. Experience of organising and delivering STEM activities is preferred. The postholder should have experience of managing, motivating and developing a team. This role requires excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across the University. A working knowledge of child safeguarding legislation is required for this role. In addition, you should have the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels, be passionate about the value of higher education and committed to Widening Access.
