Job Title: Wood Machinist
Location: Cramlington
Salary: £13.56 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:15 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch, 2 paid tea breaks)

As a Wood Machinist, you will play a vital role in producing exceptional wooden furniture frame components for both our standard range and bespoke services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a variety of techniques and materials to produce wooden furniture frame components according to job order specifications.
- Safely and accurately set up machinery and tools, including cross-cut and rip saws, planning machines, spindle moulders, and sanding equipment.
- Employ specialist equipment and techniques to saw and cut wood to the required size and length.
- Monitor machine operations, detect problems, and report any issues to the Supervisor.
- Start machines, adjust controls, and conduct trial cuts to ensure proper operation.
- Feed stock through mechanisms, shaping it to produce desired components.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area and adhere to health and safety protocols.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in setting up and operating conventional wood machinery.
- Ideally experienced in using and programming machines from an industrial/woodmill background.
- Knowledge of various wood materials and their properties.
- Close attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
