Location: Travel to all Wightlink sites
Department: Estates & Engineering
An opportunity has arisen within Estates & Engineering for a Client Representative. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of marine and site works. This role does require flexibility as you will be undertaking out of hours and weekend work and be part of the on call roster, co-ordinating contractors to attend emergency breakdowns. This role covers all 6 Wightlink sites and may require travel to external supplier sites for meetings.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist the Estates Manager in planning and scheduling construction activities
- Manage and oversee construction workers, ensuring that they adhere to CDM, safety regulations and project specifications
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and expectations are managed
- Participate in site meetings and provide progress reports to the Estate Manager and other stakeholders
- Assist in managing the project budget and ensuring that it is not exceeded
- Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during works
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure that it is up to date and easily accessible on share point and Maximo
- Take a brief and develop a project
What we’re looking for
- Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- CSCS & SMSTS
- Knowledge of building codes and CDM regulations
- First Aid qualifications
- Driving Licence would be advantageous given the travel required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and manage contractors
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- A self-starter with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
This role can be physically demanding. Applicants should have a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable working at heights around water.
