Our workshops take place on Tuesdays (starting 4.15pm, finishing 7.30pm). We are based in Croydon. Our participant pool is ages 5-15 as we try not to turn anyone away - but the average ages of those who attend are 8-12. This application is for one individual workshop (2nd of July). However, the workshops take place weekly. A successful workshop could open up the opportunity for further work.
Role
We meet at 4.15 to pick the participants up from their accommodation and then we travel together on public transport. We get to the workshop venue for 5pm. Then, we have 2 hours of fun crafts/games/drama! We then take the participants back to their accommodation, and have a quick chat regarding evaluation. We offer £84 for a half day rate for an assistant facilitator (inclusive of tax and holiday pay). All prep and plan is done by lead facilitators - we just need someone who is happy to help if the children are struggling with crafts, or are in need some inspiration, and to contribute creative, fun, ideas into the space.
Some of our participants do not speak English as a first language, and we practice trauma-informed facilitation within the room! If this is something you do not have experience with, still apply, we will have a zoom call to discuss expectations within the space.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is DBS checked as a non-negotiable factor.
- Has experience either in the arts/working with children - ideally both!
- Enjoys being creative and using their imagination!
- Has enthusiasm towards the arts, and will help us create a fun, uplifted environment.
