WGM Engineering have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Engineer to join our Engineering solutions team based in Glasgow on a permanent basis. The overall purpose of the role is to identify dismantle, report, repair, assemble and test all types of rotating equipment with a bias towards pump maintenance. The Workshop Engineer will take complete responsibility for specific workshop jobs, the role requires a hands-on approach to other mechanical engineering projects.
Main duties and responsibilities
- The overall purpose of the role is to, repair, assemble, install, report and test all types of rotating equipment.
- The engineer will take complete responsibility for specific site jobs.
- The role requires a hands-on approach.
- The site service engineer is responsible for identifying and communicating requirements to complete tasks whilst delivering a quality service to the customer.
- The key focus of the role is to:
- Work in a Safe manner at all times
- Work to deliver the highest level of quality.
- Communicate with peers and staff on all relevant activities
- Overhaul and Repair of Rotating Equipment
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar workshop or engineering type role, the ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and the ability to work as part of team as well and on your own. Previous pump and component knowledge as well as the ability to use engineering measuring equipment is essential for the role.
