Reporting to: Headteacher
Salary: Grade 3 point 4 Hourly Rate £11.98
Hours: 3pm to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 12 hours per week, term time only
This role will involve working in the After School Club alongside the Wrap Around Care staff
Main Purpose of the Job: •
To ensure the delivery of high quality childcare, activities and safety of our children within the setting of the school’s ‘The Hub’.
Main Duties Specific for this Post:
• To provide a stimulating environment and activities for our children attending The Hub which takes account of their individual needs and interests. •
To ensure that activities undertaken are delivered with due regard for the health and safety of children and in accordance with policies and risk assessments.
• To ensure appropriate safeguarding and behaviour and follow school’s procedures and policies.
• To follow health and hygiene standards when preparing and serving food.
• To ensure that the school’s equal opportunities and equal access policies are an integral part of all activities undertaken. •
To develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues including, the school staff, parents, children and external agencies as necessary. •
To participate in the overall development of the team to ensure the provision of a quality service, responsive to the needs of children and their parents/carers.
Administration/Other
• Planning, ordering, preparing and serving snacks/refreshments to the children, observing hygiene rules as well as individual needs. •
To ensure the proper use and security of premises and equipment. •
To monitor and assess one’s own practice and that of colleagues, supporting colleagues where necessary. •
To work as a member of a team that promotes an environment that safeguards and protects children. •
To ensure that all staff adhere to the Confidential Reporting policy in addition to the school’s Safeguarding Policy.
Personal Responsibilities •
To ensure that the care of the children is paramount and is maintained to the agreed standards according to the school’s values and ethos.
• To ensure that a high level of confidentiality is maintained in all aspects of work.
General:
• To carry out such other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the Headteacher.
