Smile Education are Northwest are thrilled to be supporting a thriving primary school in the recruitment of a Year 2 Teaching Assistant.
We are looking for a Year 2 TA to join this friendly team from April 2024 on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be working within a Year 2 class, providing general class support in addition to elements of 1:1 support and small group intervention works. With the summer fast approaching there is a focus on supporting pupils in working towards their Year 2 SAT’s exams, and as such intervention and booster work with small groups will form part of the role. Some pupils receiving the 1:1 and small group intervention works are currently awaiting SEND diagnosis and as such applicants should be comfortable in provided targeted support to pupils.
This is a fabulous opportunity for any TA’s looking for a new challenge. The school is located within north Manchester area, within proximity to Middleton, Simister and Chadderton. The expected salary range for the position is between £80-100 per day, depending on experience.
What to expect from applicants?
We would like applicants to have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, this can be within a school or another educational setting such as tutoring. Applicants from childcare backgrounds not associated with schools or education will also be considered, such as after school clubs, scouts and sports coaching, for example swimming teaching.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
- Teaching Assistant with a Level 2 qualification or above, such as Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Experience of working with children outside of education, such as after school clubs, tutoring or sports teaching
- Comfortable in providing intervention work to small groups and on a 1:1 basis
