Job description

Start Date: September 2024

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation and preparing them for success? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher, leading English to join our vibrant school community.

Lea Forest is a distinguished school in Birmingham, proudly awarded an OUTSTANDING rating in all areas by Ofsted. We are dedicated to providing an enriched, relevant, and innovative curriculum that unlocks a world of possibilities for every child, igniting their academic potential to reach true brilliance.

At Lea Forest, we recognise the importance of our role within the wider community. By fostering positive partnerships with parents, both within and beyond the school walls, we extend our impact into the streets, the town, and far beyond. Through this collaborative approach, we empower children to lead remarkable lives, equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an ever-changing world. Join us in shaping a brighter future for our students and community.

As a Year 6 Teacher and English Lead, you will play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of our children. You will deliver engaging and dynamic lessons that challenge and motivate learners, preparing them for the transition to secondary school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  •  Provide effective assessment and feedback to support student progress.
  •  Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and collaboration.
  •  Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure the development of each child.
  •  Prepare our children for national assessments and examinations, instilling confidence and resilience.

Requirements:

  •  Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  •  Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, is desirable but not essential.
  •  Experience of leading a core subject.
  •  Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  A passion for inspiring young minds and making a positive difference in their lives.

Benefits:

  •  Competitive salary and benefits package.
  •  Professional development opportunities and support.
  •  A supportive and collaborative school community.
  •  Opportunities for career progression and advancement.

If you are excited by this role and believe you have the values, vision, and expertise to meet this challenge, then please contact Craig Clarke-Castello (Headteacher) via email: cclarke@leaforestacademy.org to arrange a visit before making your application.

Closing date: Monday 11th March 2024
