The Opportunity
Prospero Health & Social Care are looking for Experienced Support Workers to engage in temporary contracts to deliver the very best standards and quality of care to Children and Young People in situations of Crisis.
This role will involve caring for these often-vulnerable individuals, assisting them with day-to-day tasks, and supporting them as and when required, providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals.
You will implement care plans in collaboration with the team you are working with, support young people in developing their living skills and access education / therapy, promote positive behaviour and helping individuals to manage their emotions and behaviours effectively, and help build positive relationships with the individuals themselves, their families and other professionals working in care.
Placements Available
- Supporting individuals in unregulated provisions such as Hospitals, Emergency Accommodation, Hotel / Private accommodation.
- Mother & Baby Placements (EG Mother may suffer mental health issues, or drug & alcohol issues)
- A past placement may have broken down and an individual needs to be moved to other accommodation on a temporary basis.
- Respite care for an individual that needs support while a family needs to step away temporarily.

- Hours – Long Days, Waking Nights, and Sleep in shifts available.

Requirements
- Hold a right to work in the UK that can be checked and verified (Please do not apply without this)
- Must possess 12 months UK experience in a similar role (Please do not apply without this)
- DBS (Registered with the update service preferred) New DBS can be obtained through application with Prospero.
- To provide professional references that cover 3 years.
- Must have a Can-Do attitude. A kind, caring, flexible, patient manner, and an ability to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour and situations as and when they occur. To be able to liaise with professionals.
