Job description

We Are With You in Kent are the commissioned provider of drug and alcohol support for young people aged between 10-18 and a selection of 18-24 year olds. We offer a range of free and confidential services to young people, professionals and their families.

Some of the services we offer to young people include; Brief Interventions, Specialist Treatment (one to one), Early Intervention group work and the RisKit programme which is a multi-component programme, tackling a range of risk taking behaviours. All interventions stem from the service's ethos of providing accurate and non-judgemental support and guidance which is rooted in harm reduction and support for the individual.

All applicants need to submit a CV and a covering letter on why you should be considered for this role. Applications will not be accepted if no covering letter is included.

Please note that this role may close early should sufficient applications be received, so early application is advised

We currently have two openings within our service, a one to one worker and a group worker. These roles will involve working one-to-one with young people or with groups of young people delivering a range of harm reduction interventions about drugs and alcohol and risk taking behaviours.

Our young people require a holistic approach to their support and may be experiencing difficulties around mental health, homelessness, offending and familial breakdown. As such, you will work closely with external agencies and families to help our young people achieve the best outcomes.

As a Young Person's Worker, you would carry and manage a caseload of young people, engaging with them in sessions out in the community whether that be in school, at their home or in community buildings. Eachpost holder has a designated area of work within Kent (specific areas to be discussed at interview). Please ignore the “Faversham” reference in the advert, this is for internal purposes only.

You will be supported with case management through line management, clinical supervision and group reflective practice sessions in addition to team meetings and practice development days.

We offer training to new staff and ongoing opportunities for learning and development, so if you love working with young people and are keen to become experienced and knowledgeable in the field of drug and alcohol harm reduction, this could be the role for you.

We welcome people with experience in working with young people, people with lived experience or anyone who has a passion to get into this field of work.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.

Diversity Statement

As an organisation, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our staff. We know that representing the communities we serve is key to us meeting our goals of radically improving people's lives. We welcome the unique contributions that you can bring and we encourage people from underrepresented communities and backgrounds to apply to join our team, including people with lived experience, people with disabilities, people from racialised communities, LGBTQ+ people and armed forces veterans.
