Axcis are looking to appoint a
Youth Worker for a role as a teaching assistant in an alternative provision in the Leyland, Lancashire area. The school, is smaller than average and caters for students across KS2 - 4. The school caters for students who can no longer remain in mainstream education and require additional support. The school are looking for candidates who have experience working with children who display challenging behaviours as many of the students in this school, have SEMH difficulties, autism, ADHD, ODD and/or display more challenging behaviours than you might find in a mainstream school. The school is based centrally in the Leyland area and candidates applying for this role MUST be a car driver as you will be expected to help with transport of students. The role, will be full time and school hours are typically Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm but this can be slightly less from time to time, dependent on timetable. The role will start as soon as possible on a long term basis and candidates applying for this role should be hard working, empathetic and resilient. The candidate suited to this role will have SEND experience and, be willing to work in an alternative provision with students who may be more challenging in their behaviours. The candidate should have strong classroom management skills and experience building rapport with children who are harder to reach. The role is full time and is due to begin as soon as possible.
