1 Year Ftc - Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant (1 year FTC) – Liverpool – Circa £50,000 + Benefits – Virtually remote working but ideally someone living in the North West

Based in Liverpool, our client is a large European business who is seeking an organised and dedicated individual to become part of their Finance Team as a Financial Accountant on a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The business is experiencing a great deal of change, thus they are looking to bolster their finance team by adding some additional resource and looking for an experienced Financial Accountant.

 THE JOB:

You will primarily support the group’s accounting, financial control and compliance reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month end close process, production of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, branch reconciliation and general maintenance of a strong financial control environment.
• Control the tax and other P&L and balance sheet accounts as part of the close process.
• Manage, control and streamline the monthly intercompany charges process. 
• Produce regulator and other financial compliance returns, and manage any related enquiries.  
• Prepare routine tax compliance returns for VAT.
• Help with the preparation of year end group and subsidiary accounts, and the audit process.
• Support the budget and planning process by providing group tax forecasts.
• Where needed, support the production of the year end group and subsidiary corporation tax returns, and accounting entries.
• Support ad-hoc project work to benefit the business (e.g. R&D claims, corporate reorganisations etc.)

THE PERSON:

Ideally you will be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong financial accounting experience either gained within practice or a similar type of role. It is essential that you have strong Excel skills and can work to tight deadlines.
