1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (Autism) - Supportive Primary School in Hillingdon, West London - September start!

We are recruiting a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 student with Autism. This temporary position starts from September, through until July 2025, offers you the chance to make a real difference in a young person's life while gaining valuable experience in the field of Special Education.
1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to the Year 3 student with Autism, assisting in their educational and social development.
• Develop and implement tailored learning plans and interventions in collaboration with the SENCO and classroom teacher.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's independence and wellbeing
• Utilise effective communication and behavioral strategies to facilitate the student's engagement in class activities.
• Offer emotional and social support, helping the student build vital life skills.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the student's needs are met.

1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Job Requirements:

• Experience or qualifications in supporting children with Autism or Special Educational Needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to adapt to the unique learning styles and needs of the student.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training related to Autism and special education.
