Job description

Band 4 Macmillan Community Link Worker (22hrs)

•    Would you like to work in a new service for people affected by cancer in Dumfries and Galloway?
•    Do you listen well and work with people to find out what matters to them?
•    Are you a self-starter, motivated and compassionate?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an existing small team within Dumfries and Galloway Community Health and Social Care Partnership.  Supporting people affected by cancer with their non-clinical needs and concerns, you will be educated to SCVQ Level 7/8 with strong interpersonal skills and a belief in the strengths and resilience inherent in people and communities.
The post is a 21 month fixed term appointment offering a unique opportunity to work with a range of partners across health and social care, third sector and community groups. The ICJ service delivers a new person-centred service for people affected by cancer to promote self-management and address people’s holistic needs. Working across organisational boundaries, you will work with partners to ensure the best possible outcomes for people affected by cancer.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 5th June.
For more information about the role or to arrange an informal discussion please contact Laura Gibson on laura.gibson3@nhs.scot.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
