Leading Public School (fee charging) educational provider is seeking to secure a 1st/2nd LineIT Support Engineer - they are also supported by an MSP. The role will support 25+ staff & 80+ students. There could be the potential for the role to convert to a Permanent position.
Role:
- 1st/2nd Line Support - end user support - maintenance of all the school’s IT systems, network & communications infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.
- Partner with an external MSP’s on projects & activities - the MSP provide 3rd Line support.
- Support with implementing IT Infrastructure, Systems & Processes - provisioning and migrating Servers, OS upgrades.
- Managing & maintaining the IT infrastructure consisting of - Windows Servers, Virtual Servers, Storage Devices, Network Switches & Routers, Wi-Fi network, Firewall devices, Active Directory Domain & other systems.
- Deploying & managing end-user hardware: provisioning, updates, security, connectivity, and configuration - mainly Windows 10 / Mac / iOS / Android / Chrome OS - only a few iPads to support.
- Managing when required - Business critical solutions (software & hardware) including the school’s MIS (iSAMS) & safeguarding solutions (CPOMS) - educational devices & applications that support the Computing curriculum & e-learning.
- Providing end-user support & training regarding - IT software, systems & processes to users in person & remotely.
- Managing Licences & Support contracts on hardware & software.
- Designing, implementing, and managing all DR/BCP processes.
- Managing, maintaining & developing IT Security & Compliance policies.
Technical Skills - Experience Required:
- 1st/2nd LineIT Support Engineer - system administrator - demonstrable experience.
- Office 365 & - Office & Email support experience.
- Support of End User Devices - Windows, Laptop, Desktop, iPads & Tablets.
- MDM - knowledge of Intune or similar MDM tool.
- Hardware & Software support - installation, configuration & deployment.
- Windows Server - knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP & VMware etc.
- Networking - knowledge of Switches & Routes, Wireless A/P, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, SSL & IPSec.
- Media Audio/Visual devices - i.e., Projectors & Interactive Displays etc.
- Security - Firewall, AV, Web Filters & Security Policies.
- VOIP Comms & other Telephony support.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good organizational skills, combined with a proactive approach.
Working Hours:
- This is an on-site role - during Term Time between the hours are - 8.30am - 5.00pm /
- During the School Holidays - 8:30am - 4:00pm - with some flexibility to work from home.
