Grade UE07: £37,099-£44,263 per annum pro-rata for part time (A revised salary range for this grade of £39,347 to £46,974 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)
College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences/School of Literatures, Languages & Cultures/Celtic & Scottish Studies
Part-time: 26.25 hours per week (0.75 FTE)
Fixed-term: for 18 Months
We are seeking an invigorated and dynamic individual who will make a significant contribution to teaching in Scottish Gaelic language and linguistics and potentially to the Celtic curriculum more broadly. You will be a confident teacher familiar with contemporary methods of teaching.

The Celtic & Scottish Studies department in the School of Literatures, Languages & Cultures is one of the leading centres for the study of Celtic languages and literatures in the UK. You will be joining a dedicated team of teachers and researchers whose expertise ranges widely across the discipline. You will share our commitment to the very highest standards in the teaching of Celtic languages and culture. You will assume responsibility for undergraduate teaching, the supervision of undergraduates, and the provision of student support. You will be encouraged to embrace opportunities for connecting our subject area with the wider community.

Your skills and attributes for success:
Hold a PhD in Celtic Studies or related discipline.
Knowledge of, and demonstrable expertise in Scottish Gaelic language, linguistics, literature and culture.
Demonstrable expertise in one or more other areas of Celtic Studies.
Demonstrable ability to design and deliver inspiring teaching.
