*JOB OVERVIEW*
We have an excellent opportunity for a Tutor / Assessor to deliver training courses to learners undertaking the SEG Level 3 Diploma in Access to HE (Nursing). For information: EMD learners on this programme are adult learners, wishing to enter higher level study and degree courses leading to a career as a Registered Nurse, or in a specialised nursing role such as paediatric nursing or mental health nursing.
The successful candidate must have experience working in further education, vocational training, teaching etc. working as an assessor, tutor or lecturer with strong knowledge of accredited course delivery.
An industry-recognised qualification in nursing is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who hold extensive occupational experience. Topics include: – Anatomy – Physiology – Nursing theory and practice – Pharmacology – Psychology – Communication skills – Medical ethics – Healthcare policies and procedures.
Experience of Ofsted inspections and knowledge of the Common Inspection Framework would be preferred, however training will be provided on quality standards.
Working as a Tutor / Assessor you will be responsible for supporting an ongoing caseload of learners. Learners complete the majority of their study online and you will have Access to our online learning platform. You will be involved in coaching, training and assessing students through their accredited course, complying at all times with the organisation’s and the Awarding Organisation’s Quality Assurance requirements.

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Initially assess, sign up and signpost learners towards the correct qualification to best suit their needs
* Oversee learners’ work via the online learning platform, providing clarification, subject knowledge expertise and support where necessary
* Teaching, training and coaching learners through their course, including formal assessment of learner work
* Conducting progress reviews, giving IAG, and recording information on individual learning plans and other records
* Working closely with our Project Manager and Lead Administrator to enrol, induct, support and monitor the progress of learners
* Ensuring learners complete their training within the specified timescale
* Following company policy in regards to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Recruitment etc and ensuring the wellbeing of learners from sign up through to completion
* Working with learners to support them to progress either onto higher level training courses or university
* Ensuring the retention of learners and ensuring a high achievement rate
* Attend standardisation meetings and internally/externally provided training as part of an ongoing CPD programme
* Keeping up to date with Awarding Body requirements, ensuring programmes are delivered in line with the most up to date Qualification Specifications available
* Keep close contact with learners should there be any absence or break in learning to ensure learners are retained and able to complete their training course with minimum disruption
* Promoting other training courses offered by EMD when dealing with employers and learners
* Assisting in the development and improvement of learning resources and course materials, working with the team to maintain the highest quality of materials are in use at all times
* Keeping a record of all CPD activity, up to date and relevant to the job role and organisation
* Following the Assessment and Internal Quality Assurance policy
* Maintaining a professional and positive company image at all times
*IDEAL CANDIDATES*
· qualified at level 4 or above in nursing, ideally as a qualified nurse with current PIN (or in a subject allied to or similar to that subject) (with no restrictions on practice or caution order in place)
· have or be working towards a teaching qualification at level 4 or above
· have or be working towards an Assessor qualification at Level 3 (or equivalent)
· have Maths and English at least level 2 (GCSE grade C or above) (or equivalent)
· have experience of delivering and assessing Access to HE (or willing to undertake training in Access to HE regulations, policies and procedures prior to delivering or assessing)
Desirable:
· experience of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) roles and/or an IQA qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in The Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes And Practice).
