Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program
In this role as an Account Manager, you will drive the sales of Tesla’s utility Energy Optimization and Trading Software platforms across Europe, working together with the Account Managers responsible for selling Tesla’s Megapack battery storage projects in the region. The role requires deep engagement with both external and internal teams – leading education, sales, and contracting with customers, and contributing to the development of products, offerings, and strategies in conjunction with our engineering, sales, and product teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have a solid understanding of the energy industry, including electricity markets, renewables, and energy storage systems. In addition, you bring experience in technical sales and prior experience with energy asset optimization.
- Educate customers on the benefits of Tesla’s Energy Optimization and Trading Software and services
- Leverage sales team relationships with independent power producers, developers, and utilities to build a pipeline of Energy Optimization services opportunities within EMEA
- Achieve sales targets via negotiating and contracting
- Collaborate internally to define Tesla’s Energy Optimization offering scope, terms, and pricing, including developing complex financial structures and ensuring alignment with customer needs
- Contribute to the strategy for and preparation of tender responses, in collaboration with Tesla’s Megapack Sales team
- Maintain quality pipeline data and provide reporting to management as needed
- Assess market dynamics and drivers in designated markets, offering crucial insights to the wider Tesla team for formulating and implementing optimal go-to-market strategies
- A minimum of 4-5 years of work experience in the electricity industry, a background in the battery storage industry is a plus
- Possess a strong understanding of electricity markets and energy trading
- Sales or business development experience with a focus on customer interactions
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ideally with experience on complex price models, storage/renewable project economics, techno-economic optimizations, quantitative risk analysis, etc.
- Experience structuring, negotiating, and contracting complex financial offers is considered a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and analytical results to clients and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise in overseeing cross-functional projects within dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Fluency in English and, ideally, another European language
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time
- Deep passion for accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy
