The Role
The main purpose of this Account Payable Clerk role will be responsible for high volume processing of Invoices and expenses as well as various adhoc Purchase Ledger duties.
The roles and responsibilities of this Account Payable Clerk -
- Process expenses on a daily basis but responsible to learn other roles within the department.
- Supporting the Purchase Ledger Supervisor with adhoc day to day duties as required.
- You will be required to code, batch and key invoices onto the system highlighting special payment terms.
- Ensure invoices/expenses are fully authorised for payment and within the relevant payment terms.
- Reconcile supplier statements ensuring figures are updated in time for each month end , requesting copy invoices and following up on any debt chasing letters
- Opening and distribution of Post for the Purchase Ledger department on a weekly rota basis.
To be successful in thisAccount Payable Clerk -
- Ideally suited to someone who has any finance work experience /internship in an accounting/ bookkeeping or purchase ledging role .
- Should have worked on computerised accounting systems
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate key messages to stakeholders
- Good MS Office skills including Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure
