Accountant

Working exclusively with a dynamic and growing SME, we are recruiting for an Accountant. In this varied role you will be responsible for all finance related matters and providing accurate financial reporting and analysis. You will have the opportunity to shape how the business carries out its finance function with process and system improvements. This role offers hybrid working and flexible working.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
• Preparation of reconciliations including Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets, Profit and Loss and income statements)
• Preparation of Budget financial information with key stakeholders
• Recommend and implement improvements in processes
• Month end and year end activities.
• Preparation of accounts for tax accountants to process year end
• Margin analysis, labour analysis & overhead analysis activities.
• Preparation of weekly management information.
• Budgeting and forecasting activities
• Daily Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Credit Control management
• Provision of key support on business projects
• Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
• In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
• Solid knowledge of accounting regulations
• Ideally experience in manufacturing
• Strong Excel skills
• Self-motivated with desire to take ownership
• Confident working and presenting to the board
