The Accountant will be providing a range of strategic advice and operational financial support services to different departments and offer comprehensive financial advice to fulfil the statutory obligations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with accountancy standards and codes of practice.

Our client is based in Yate, Bristol and are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.
Description
The Accountant will be responsible for;
- The Finance team play an important role in ensuring the council funds are being distributed, controlled and spent appropriately.
- You will provide a technical accounting service for Capital expenditure in the Corporate Finance team and review and resolve any issues relating to budgets, financial information and resources for your area of specialism so that agreed targets are met.
- You will be responsible for updating & maintaining our Fixed Asset Register.
- In this senior role you will provide expert advice to councillors, departments, managers and the senior leadership team ensuring they receive clear guidance and information data that fulfils statutory requirements. You will be responsible for collating statutory returns relating to capital expenditure.
- You will oversee a team giving support and guidance as well as set targets, monitor performance and review potential changes to ensure services and projects are delivered successfully.
- We are replacing our existing finance system Civica Financials with Dynamics 365 in April 2024, you will be expected to support this implementation.
Profile
The successful candidate will;
- Have a recognised accountancy qualification
- Have significant operational experience within a large organisation, covering the key financial processes of financial planning, budget preparation, budget monitoring and preparing final accounts.
- Have experience of supervising a small team to effectively deliver a range of quality and cost-effective financial management and financial support services.
- It is essential that you have excellent IT, numeracy and good analytical skills.
- Ideally you would need Knowledge of Dynamics D365 & CIVICA Financials (this is not essential)
Job Offer
A salary of up to £45,000 is on offer to the successful candiadte as well as 26 days holiday and a very generous pension.
