FPSG seek experienced Accountants to join a 'New Entrant' to the Glasgow Market. This is a fantastic career forming opportunity to join an International Organisation who have chosen Glasgow as the site for their new Global Business Centre. A centre that will form the core of their back office functions world-wide, offering excellent professional progression prospects.
The accountant post sits within the broader Finance Department. The varied role ranges from Month end close & Financial reporting, Lease accounting, Balance sheet control, Treasury accounting, Intercompany accounting, Audit support. Focus can be in one or across many functions, and depending on experience individuals can contribute to, lead, or oversee these functions.
In the Accountant role your responsibilities will include:
* Contributing to several of: Month end close & Financial reporting, Lease accounting, Balance sheet control, Treasury accounting, Intercompany accounting, Audit support.
* Prepare and/or contribute to reviews, month-end journals, accrual, prepayments amortization, cost re-allocation.
* Contribute to the review and analysis of financial transactions, processes, and reports
* Act to Ensure that general ledger processes and procedures are in accordance with global accounting policy and procedures.
* Support the monitoring and reconciles all Intercompany accounts both balance sheet & P&L.
* Contribute to preparing and reviewing month-end journals relating to FX revaluation, tax provision, income offset etc
* Contribute to variance analysis for Profit & loss accounts & Balance sheet accounts.
To be a successful Accountant / Senior Accountant you will have demonstrable skills and experience such as:
* University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
* Holding appropriate Finance & Accounting qualifications
* Experience as an Accountant within either professional services companies, shared service centers or business process outsourcing environments.
* A demonstrable career experience in several of the following; Month end close & Financial reporting, Lease accounting, Balance sheet control, Treasury accounting, Intercompany accounting, Audit support.
* Experience of working with high volume complex finance matters utilising appropriate finance management software
* Advanced analytical skills and in-depth financial accounting competence, ideally with an understanding of IFRS.
* A proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
* Strong MS Office skills (ideally advanced Excel and Word)
* Excellent time management, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
**Based Glasgow City Centre this post offers a hybrid working model, as such a reasonable commutable distance from Glasgow would be expected.
