Assisting in the Firm’s Accounts department:
- Processing payments and receipts
- Client and Office account transfers
- Client journal entries
- Preparing interest reports and calculations
- Billing guides and disbursement reports
- Maintaining the Purchase Ledger
- Posting sales invoices and allocating fees
- Banking receipts
- Dealing with on-line banking, checking for receipts and creating telegraphic transfer
- and BACS payments
- Allocating interest to clients in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Client and office Bank Reconciliations
- Financial ledger and time enquiries
- Checking Completion and Financial statements
- Credit control.
Admin duties as requested by the CEO including:
- Human Resource assistance
- IT assistance
- General office administration
Technical Skills / Educational Requirements
- Good standard of education, including GCSE Maths and English
- An accounting qualification
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping to trial balance
- Clear understanding of VAT procedures
Additional Skills Preferred
- Experience of using Solicitors Legal Accounting Software
- Understanding of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
