Eventus Recruitment are seeking an Accounts Assistant for a law firm based in Solihull, West Midlands. Currently, the law firm are expanding their accounts team to support the Finance Manager. You will ideally have at least 1 year’s similar experience within a law firm and will benefit from 33 days holiday including bank holidays.Role ResponsibilitiesThe incoming Accounts Assistant will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including compliance with regulatory bodies and in accordance with Solicitors Account Rules. Key tasks including:* To support the operation of the firm’s accounting system.* To ensure that all banking is done daily as directed.* To assist in producing and managing various reconciliations, ensuring all are completed on time.* To ensure the postings to the accounts system and case management system are completed daily.* To raise private client invoices.* To produce client to office transfer paperwork.* To raise various Legal Aid invoices and assist in processing monthly billing submissions.* To execute Telegraphic Transfers.* To ensure that all purchase invoices are dealt with in a timely manner.* To deal directly with clients when receiving payment by card.* To ensure that all closed accounts are authorised and that nil balances are achieved before archiving.* To assist in archiving files.* To support the operation of the department’s credit control system.* To manage own work allocation, productivity, and quality of work with minimum supervision.* To update various Excel spreadsheets regarding billing and reporting.Person SpecificationThe successful Accounts Assistant will have previous Legal accounts experience as well as strong Microsoft Excel & Outlook experience:* Organisational skills and the ability to multitask.* Working knowledge of the accounting principles, Solicitors Accounts Rules would be beneficial.* Purchase and Sales ledger experience.* Reconciliation experience and good computer skills are essential.* Attention to detail is essential.Benefits and RewardsThe incoming Accounts Assistant will benefit from working in a supportive and friendly environment with benefits that include:* 33 days holidays plus Bank holidays.* Pension.* Onsite/local parking* CPD contributions* Development opportunitiesAbout the CompanyA modern and dynamic law firm that embrace the latest technology and cutting-edge practices in their strive for excellence.
