Accounts Assistant
Job Purpose:
To provide financial, administrative, and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Control-
- Setting up new Customers
- Raising Credit Notes
- Cash Posting
- Ensuring Payments are chased for all overdue debts.
- Reconcile Sales Ledger Monthly
- Notify Invoice Finance of daily transactions.
Purchase Ledger-
- Matching invoices to deliveries
- Posting invoices on the system
- Reconciliation of supplier's accounts with statements
- Coding of approved invoices
- Maintain supplier accounts and setting up new ones.
- Reconcile Purchase Ledger Monthly
- Processing Payments
General-
- Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
- Maintaining records for all transactions.
- Creating and updating spreadsheets of daily transactions.
- liaising with customers & suppliers when needed.
- Assisting the finance department and senior accounting staff members with various tasks, including preparing budgets, records, and statements.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 3 AAT qualification or bookkeeping equivalent.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or experience in a similar financial role.
Package:
- Salary: 23,000 - 25,000.
- Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 12 noon.

- Holiday terms are 25 days annual leave plus statutory.
