The Opportunity:
If you are a seasoned Accounts Assistant with experience of processing payroll then we have a great job opportunity for you on Sowton in Exeter. Your role within a well established Accounts department of a busy manufacturing business will be to provide general assistance across the Finance department supporting the Financial Controller and Management Accountants. You will assist in the administration and processing of the weekly and monthly payrolls, with support from the Management Accountants. You will also undertake accounts payable and credit control functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Daily bank statement reconciliations
- Process weekly and monthly payroll, produce relevant payroll reports and process journals.
- Process weekly supplier and miscellaneous bacs payments.
- Process the monthly pension requirements and reconciliations
- Process monthly petty cash and foreign currency cash journals
- Process monthly company credit card and other expense claims
- Assist the accounts payable and receivable function
- Provide accounts payable and accounts receivable cover for holidays/sickness
- Raising all direct post invoices and credit notes.
- Other ad hoc duties to support the Financial Controller and Management Accountant
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Payroll experience is very desirable.
- Experience in a Finance Environment with essential Accounting background.
- AAT qualified or studier ideal, although not essential (study support possible).
- ERP System experience would be desirable to build good working relationships across all levels.
