Accounts Assistant

Astute Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to find an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic finance team based in Long Whatton.
This role is ideal for someone who considers themselves to be detail-orientated, proactive and a team player. In this newly formed position, your responsibility will be to support the finance team with a range of accounting tasks.

Main Duties:

• Preparation of daily cash book and monthly bank reconciliations
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Assisting with monthly balancing of eBay, PayPal and other accounts
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliation

Other Duties:

• Assisting the Credit Control team
• Supporting Purchase Ledger
• Monthly reconciliation of cash sale clearing control accounts
• Balancing petty cash
• Preparing and processing monthly journals
• Assisting with the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and Year End processes
• Assisting in preparation of monthly fixed asset postings
• Weekly payroll support
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Training and supporting other team members

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to effectively multi task
• AAT Level 3 qualified (desirable but not essential)

Benefits and Salary:

• Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience
• Potential for study support
• Working hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm
