Streamline Recruitment are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Credit Control professional on behalf of our client, who are a independent importer of Plywood and panel products, based in Tilbury.
This is a permanent role, Monday-Friday 8AM- 5PM, salary is NEG DOE. This position is a key role reporting to the Directors of the company. The purpose of the role is to assist in the maintenance, reporting and the management of company finances.
Responsibilities;
- Working with journals, sales & purchase ledgers and spreadsheets
- Contacting customers by telephone/e-mail to ensure payment within their agreed credit terms
- Ensure all correspondence to customers in sage are kept up to date for audit trial purposes
- Escalation of bad debts to solicitors and debt collection agents
- Opening of new credit account customers setting appropriate credit limits
- Aged debtor reviews and meetings
- Credit Management & credit limit reviews
- Sales Invoicing
- Reconciliation of all finance accounts
- Ensuring that all payment amounts and records are accurate
- Assist with any internal queries from the other departments
- Ensure all rebates are managed and processed in a timely manner
- Manage the currency list on a weekly basis
- Handle customer credit insurance details
- Ensure all company credit cards/expenses are recorded on a monthly basis
- Provide the auditors with all relevant information
- Monthly haulage totals
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the Management Team
Experience required;
- Credit control/ Accounts experience of 5 years or more
- Sage Line 50 or equivalent experience
- IT Literate specifically experience using Sage, Bistrack, Word and Excel
- To be decisive, confident & persistent with customers as required
- Accurate data entry skills
- Professional, friendly & assertive manner using the phone
- Methodical & organised with good attention to detail
- Able to manage and organise own workload
- A team player and flexibility with assisting team members
