What you'll be doing?
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the Finance team in the preparation of accurate and timely financial information.
You will be expected to:
- Assist the Finance Manager as required in the half-year end and year-end reporting process
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliation
- Maintain various schedules as part of monthly reporting requirement
- Process accurate and timely payments and ensure that accounts are appropriately maintained
- Reconcile the bank account and cash book
- Perform internal controls to verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries or to obtain missing documentation
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing ad hoc analysis and performing other appropriate duties
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
- Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractors tax and CITB payments as appropriate
- Support ad hoc projects, tasks and analysis
What you'll need?
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
- Studying for an accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or wishing to commence study
- Able to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
- Strong organisational skills required
