An opportunity has arisen to work for the UK's pioneer of bespoke housebuilding. We're delighted to be leading the search for an Accounts Assistant, preferably with COINS experience, to join the business on a permanent basis.
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the Purchase Ledger (including subcontractors) and assisting the Finance Manager with cash book reporting, bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up new suppliers on the COINS accounting system
- Communicating with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries
- Attaching the correct documentation to invoices and reconciling GRS and Delivery Notes to invoices received
- Posting invoices and credit notes and ensuring they’re coded correctly in the system
- Preparing monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Dealing with external and internal queries by phone and email
- Preparing supplier payments for approval by the Finance Manager
- Ensuring that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures
- Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items
Additional tasks to support the finance function:
- Raising sales invoices
- Posting cash book items and direct debits
- Reconciling statements for multiple bank accounts
- Preparation and posting of intercompany invoices
- Supporting the Finance Manager on related year-end audit information
PERSON SPECIFICATION
This role is best suited to an Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger Clerk who's looking for their next step up the career ladder. We're looking for someone who's eager to progress with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- COINS experience advantageous
- Construction/Housebuilding background
- Open to active studiers (AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
- Advanced Excel (Vlook ups, pivots, formulas)
