Accounts Assistant with Payroll Experience

• Annual Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant withPayroll Experience to join our finance team. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual who has a solid foundation in accounting and is looking to expand their expertise in payroll processing. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial records and ensuring that our staff are paid accurately and on time.

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and accounts, reconciling bank statements, and managing ledger accounts.
• Process payroll transactions in compliance with legal and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
• Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
• Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
• Provide support to employees for payroll-related queries.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support the finance team with various tasks, including ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

• Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant with exposure to payroll processes.
• Familiarity with Payroll software and strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
