We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team.
We are a leading importer and supplier of gifts and homeware accessories to retailers of all sizes. We are a friendly finance team of 10, within an office-based company of 40+ people in Waltham Cross. The role will form part of the Accounts Payable team.
Role Title - Accounts Payable Clerk
Salary - GBP26-30k
Location - Waltham Cross
Hours - 9am to 5:30pm
Contract Type - Permanent
Responsibilities of the role
Check, code and process supplier invoices
Ensure timely approval of invoices for payment
Prepare BACS payments, ensure remittance advice documents are sent out correctly
Reconcile supplier statements
Regular review of Aged Creditors, highlightand clear old balances as required.
Review import documentation and set up import payments
Allocate currency invoices to forward contracts
Reconcile duty invoices and other import costs
Investigate and resolve queries related to supplier invoices
Interact with suppliers/bank using phone/email
Process credit cards
Process employee expenses and petty cash
Maintain cashbooks
Prepare bank reconciliations
Carry out duties directed by the management team as and when required
The successful individual should be highly motivated, a fast learner and keen to show initiative. The candidate must be a team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and comfortable in liaising with all levels both internally and externally.
Requirements for the role
Fluent in English - written and verbal
Other European languages are advantageous but not necessary
Minimum 2 years ACCOUNTS PAYABLE experience, ideally in a similar multi-currency role
Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
Good organisational skills and able to meet tight deadlines
Embrace changes in reporting and daily tasks that benefit the finance team
IT literate with Intermediate Excel, Word and Outlook skills
Dynamics 365 Business Central knowledge is useful
Flexibility to cover team members when required
