Activity Support Worker

iMeUs HealthCare is looking for an individual with Activity Support Worker experience within Adult Mental Health working in the community on a daily basis. In return iMeUs HealthCare will pay rates of up to Band 4 inclusive plus additional company performance bonuses dependant on level of experience.

We are looking for an individual that has a genuine passion for looking after people in the community who struggle with confidence and trust due to mental health.

The individual would need to show good evidence and experience of working with people that have mental health issues, have a kind and understanding nature, responsive approach to all faced challenges, in-depth awareness of Mental Health and how this impacts on people, open mind approach, able to develop skills that go on to help others with a true driven desire for those that need us the most.

The applicant will need to have a keen interested in developing their own health and social care skills, be willing to travel and take people out into the community on daily activity trips whilst maintaining a level of continuous professional development in maintain knowledge based employment.

• Pay Rates are based on experience and qualifications with salary-based contracts offered, no per call or minute per call pay here!
• Up to band 4 agenda for change pay dependant on experience.

Duties:

• Assist with activities of daily living, including community trips, therapeutic social activities
• Provide direct care and support to individuals in the community supporting mental health.
• Supporting individuals when times are hard
• Support with daily challenges
• Offer time to listen and offer support
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and other outings
• Document and report any changes in individuals' health or behaviour
• Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and compassion for individuals in need of care in the community
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team whilst managing challenges
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with reliability focus
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR (preferred) and mental health illnesses
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
