We are now recruiting for a Business Manager to work across the various departments in the business managing the day-to-day business administration of MML including:
- Supporting business planning and delivery
- Developing and maintaining governance processes and procedures
- Ensuring contractual compliance with the Owner (West Midlands Combined Authority)
- Risk management
In addition to this, more specifically as our Business Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Manage the administration of MML Board meetings and Leadership / Management meetings, overseeing the forward plan.
- Oversee and support the delivery of reports and documentation necessary to ensure compliance with the Public Service Contract (PSC).
- Attend and take minutes at contractual meetings between MML and the Owner.
- Provide consistent business planning support across MML.
- Manage and co-ordinate input into the business plan from across MML.
- Report on performance against the Business Plan to internal stakeholders and to the Owner.
- Act as a point of contact in relation to office accommodation.
- Proof-read reports, briefings and any other substantive documents.
- Manage non-standard MML business enquiries into the MD's office and respond accordingly.
- Provide confidential support to the Managing Director in establishing robust and consistent administration of the business.
In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:
- Proven experience of working within a busy office environment, including experience in dealing with external contractors.
- Educated to at least level 5 qualification or a business degree.
- A management or business administration qualification.
- Strong administrative and IT software, in particular MS Office packages.
- Demonstrable attention to detail, with exceptional level of accuracy.
- To have proven experience at delivering a high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Discretion and diplomacy when handling confidential information.
- Be inspiring, promote positive attitude/influence on all colleagues.
- Ability to synthesise and analyse a wide range of information and present data in a digestible format and to a high standard.
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to efficiently work and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise, delegate and work methodically.
- Ability to identify, develop and implement effective administration systems.
- Ability to solve problems and make good judgements.
