As a Self-Lay Coordinator/ Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the process of self-lay installations for utility infrastructure projects. Working closely with developers, contractors, and internal teams, you will ensure that self-lay schemes are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
What you will be doing
- Project Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for self-lay schemes, liaising with clients, stakeholders and internal departments to coordinate project activities from initiation to completion.
- Permitting and Approvals: Facilitate the process for self-lay installations, obtaining necessary approvals from regulatory agencies.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to developers and contractors regarding self-lay specifications, materials, and installation methods.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of projects, approvals, design drawings, and as-built documentation, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved in self-lay projects, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and any potential issues or delays.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with self-lay projects and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them, promoting a safe working environment for all involved parties.
- Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to optimize self-lay processes and procedures and driving efficiency gains while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Who we are looking for
- Previous experience in utility infrastructure projects, with ideally specific knowledge of self-lay installations.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing utility installations (e.g., water, gas, electricity).
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using CRM solutions.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
