We have an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sheffield as Admissions Officer (Alternative Routes & Programmes)
You will be responsible for overseeing the procedures for applications and admissions with a particular focus on alternative routes and programmes. This will include improving and developing admissions processes, providing admissions support and providing effective support for the Admissions Officers and Admissions Managers. In addition to the above, you will plan and organise the University’s activities to support the University of Sheffield International College (USIC). This will involve responsibility to create procedural information and the development of effective training for staff as well as overseeing the operational activities.
Your role will oversee the delivery of a high-quality service for applicants and monitor admissions procedures to ensure the continued delivery of fair, consistent and efficient admissions. Alongside responsibilities surrounding alternative routes and programmes admissions you will also work closely with your undergraduate, postgraduate and compliance counterparts to ensure a joined up approach to delivery of our services.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar role or busy office environment with good attention to detail coupled with the ability to work across a variety of IT platforms and information resources. You will also need to have good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent customer service skills, with experience of responding efficiently and effectively to phone and email enquiries. You will possess the ability to work effectively as part of a team, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and be willing to work flexibly when necessary in order to meet deadlines.
